 Barbara “Bobbie” Joan Sanders Owen  

 

      

Barbara “Bobbie” Joan Sanders Owen, 73 of Havre de Grace, MD, left this life on April 15, 2010 surrounded by loved ones.

She was born on March 23, 1937 in El Paso, Texas to the late James and Blanche (Brady) Sanders of Aberdeen, MD.

Affectionately known as “Granny” to her family and friends, she grew up and went to school in Aberdeen and then moved to Baltimore City and later to Havre de Grace where she worked at Havre de Grace Sr. High School and Citizens Nursing Home in food Service. Granny cherished the constant presence of family and friends gathering at her home, cooking and the musical sounds of Elvis.

 She is survived by her husband Larry Owen Sr. of Havre de Grace, two sisters, Gladys Moyer of Pennsylvania and Patricia Peterson of Havre de Grace and a brother Tom Sanders of Florida, three sons, Scott Cochran of Marietta, Georgia, Larry Owen Jr. and wife Donna of Perryville, Michael Owen and wife Tracy of Perryville, four daughters, Linda Reynolds and Cheryl Cochran of Colorado, Sherry Beiniek, Laurie Fallon and Husband Michael of Havre de Grace, Daughter-In-law Michelle Owen of Havre de Grace. Grandchildren, Todd Lynch and wife Celeste of Aberdeen, Jennifer Fillmore, Jylbeth Lynch and Lea Cataggio of Havre de Grace, Colby and Kasi Owen of Perryville, Michael Scott Fallon of Havre de Grace, Shannon and Sean Sullivan, Brandi, Kelsea and Hunter Ulrich of Perryville, three Great-grandchildren, Kimberlee, Kaylob and Kevyn Lynch of Aberdeen, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

She was predeceased in death by her brother, James Sanders Jr., sisters Betty Hernyack of Georgia, Mae Van Lint of Florida, Rae Blackwell of Maryland

 

A visitation will be held at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD  on  Monday, April 26, from 12:00 – 1:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at 1:00. Interment will be private. Pastor Ron Smith will officiate.
