Obituary for Shirley Ann Barnes (Temple)

Shirley Ann Barnes of Abingdon, MD passed away at the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center on January 2, 2014. She was 68. Mrs. Barnes was born in Baltimore County to the Late Harold B. Temple, Sr. and Elizabeth Ann Temple. She was the devoted wife of 42 years to Robert F. Barnes, Sr. Mrs. Barnes was the devoted mother to Sharon Hitchcock, James Hannah, Joseph Hannah, Doyle Hannah, Jr., Bobby Barnes, Jr. and Roger Barnes. She was the adoring grandmother to thirteen and great-grandmother to many. She is survived by her three brothers; Harold B. Temple, Jr., Charles Temple, David L. Temple and one sister; Paula G. Grimm. Mrs. Barnes retired after many years in Retail Sales. She enjoyed bowling, traveling, camping and having cookouts with family and friends. She was an avid collector of owl’s knickknacks and state spoons. She loved just being with her family and friends spending time. A viewing will be held on January 8, 2014 from 5 to 8 P.M. at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington St., Havre de Grace, MD. A funeral service will be held on January 9, 2014 at 11 A.M. at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A. Interment will be at the Holly Hill Cemetery in Baltimore, MD.
