Condolence: I am so shocked and saddened by the news of Kelly's passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this difficult time. I enjoyed volunteering for Homes For Our Troops during the build brigade, volunteer day and key ceremony. I was very proud to stand with the Maryland Patriot Guard, line the driveway with American Flags, and welcome Kelly home to his new adaptive house. I just saw Kelly and his Dad a few weeks ago at another key ceremony. It is hard to believe that he is gone. If there is anything the Maryland Patriot Guard can do, please reach out to us.

Condolence: I am deeply saddened to hear of Kelly’s sudden passing. I met him briefly at Fort Hood, Texas about October 2011 and again in Southbridge, Massachusetts in February 2012 during our Equal Employment Opportunity internship orientation for the Department of the Army. A wounded warrior. He taught me to play different billiard games and to enjoy a whiskey sour…or two. We enjoyed simple conversation. His quiet and pensive demeanor hid a genuine intellect and humor. He was always very cordial and pleasant. I wrote about him two years in a row for local newspapers during National Disability Employment Awareness Month. I mentioned his resilient example of service after surviving his dreadful combat wounds. I will sorely miss him though we had not seen each other in over a year. He gave all.
