Carol A. Foard Teate

 

Carol Ann Foard Teate of Aberdeen died peacefully June 19th from complications of Parkinson’s disease.  She had been a resident of Citizen’s Care & RehabilitationCenter in Havre de Grace since March of this year.

 

Born October 11, 1943 in Havre de Grace, she was the daughter of the late Thomas R. and Cleo Cloak Foard.  She attended Havre de GraceSchools, graduating in 1961.  She attended what was then HarfordJunior College, and worked for the American Red Cross at Aberdeen Proving Ground for six years.  She then worked in Human Resources and Medical Records at Harford Memorial and UpperChesapeakeHospitals for a total of 27 years.

 

Ms. Teate was an active member of Havre de GraceUnitedMethodistChurch where she served Communion, was on the Worship Committee and volunteered at Grace Place.  She enjoyed cooking, sewing, decorating, traveling, family heirlooms, friends and her cats.  she kept a beautiful home and entertained with an all day open house for her friends every Christmas, preparing all the wonderful dishes herself.  she had retired and was looking forward to traveling when stricken with Parkinson’s disease.

 

In addition to her parents, Ms. Teate was predeceased by her husband, John F. Teate in 1989 and her sister, Susan E. Monsson in 1991.  She is survived by her nephew, Ronald Thomas Elmore and Cheryl Charley, from Aberdeen, MD; her niece, Angela S. Teeter, Oxnard, CA, great-niece Tanya Elmore, San Antonio, TX, great-nephew, Tyler Elmore and Amy Simmons and great-great nephew, Malakai Thomas Elmore of North East, MD.  Ms. Teate is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Laura Teate of Aberdeen, MD, her Uncle Emerson Craig of Bel Air and several cousins.  Ms. Teate also leaves close friends Betty Adams of Great Cacapoon, WV, Barbara Bradley of Wilmington, DE, Marcy Boyle of Havre de Grace, MD and her beloved kitty “Squeekie” of Aberdeen.

 

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 25th at 2:00 PM at the HarfordMemorialGardens, 3839 Aldino Road, Aberdeen, MD.  The Reverend Ray Roberson of the Havre de GraceUnitedMethodistChurch will officiate.

 

Contributions can be made in Carol’s name to the Havre de Grace High School Class of 1961 Memorial Scholarship Fund, 800 Chesapeake Drive, Havre de Grace, MD 21078 or to the Grace Place in Carol’s name c/o the Havre de Grace United Methodist Church, 101 South Union Avenue, Havre de Grace, MD 21078.
