James E. Brown

James E. Brown, of Havre de Grace, passed away on August 17, at Charlotte Hall Veteran’s Home. He was 87.

He was born in Fulton Township, Pennsylvania, to the late Eber Brown and Mary Finnefrock Brown.

He was the loving husband of the late Helen M. Brown. He was the devoted father of Margaret M. Johnson-Jones of Havre de Grace, adored grandfather of Donald R. Johnson, II, of Havre de Grace, Heather M. Johnson of Aberdeen, and Rebecca L. Johnson of Havre de Grace, and great-grandfather of Devan R. Johnson and Alyssa L. Johnson of Havre de Grace, and Adam T. Cullum and Stephen N. Vass, Jr., of Aberdeen.

Mr. Brown served in the U.S. Army from 1942-1946. He spent his career as an auto mechanic for Paul Atki Dodge and Chrysler, in downtown Havre de Grace. He was a member of American Legion Post 47. He enjoyed gardening and fishing.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, August 22, from 10 AM to 12PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, Maryland. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 PM. Rev. Edward C. Heydt will officiate. Pallbearers will be Donald R. Johnson, II, Brian Burdsall, Joseph O’Brien, Michael Thompson, Charles Taylor, and David Bowman. Interment with military honors will be at Harford Memorial Gardens.
