Nellie Hoxter Evans

Nellie Hoxter Evans, of Havre de Grace, passed away on March 26. She was 82.
She was born in Tunnelton, West Virginia, to the late William and Minnie Pyle Maxwell.
She was the loving wife of the late Vernon Hoxter and the loving companion of the late Vernon Kane.
She was the devoted mother of Everett Hoxter and mother-in-law of Mary Teresa “Terri” Hoxter, of Havre de Grace, grandmother of Kelly and Vincent Savarese, Elizabeth Caroline Hoxter Tunnicliffe and Craig Tunnicliffe, and great-grandmother of Alaina and Alicia Savarese and Lila Tunnicliffe. She is also survived by two brothers, Kenneth and Charles Maxwell, and was predeceased by 3 brothers and 6 sisters.
Mrs. Evans retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp. in Baltimore, MD. While living in Yankeetown, Florida, she was very active in the Parsons Memorial Presbyterian Church. Upon moving back to Havre de Grace, she became a member of Havre de Grace Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed playing the organ. She also enjoyed cooking.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 11:00 AM at Havre de Grace Presbyterian Church, 551 Franklin Street, Havre de Grace, MD
21078. Dr. Jim Horn will officiate.
