Shirley G. Schroeder

Shirley G. Schroeder of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center.  She was 86.  She was the beloved wife of the late Morris E. Schroeder.

Mrs. Schroeder was born in Baltimore, MD to the Late John J. Benton and Emma Marie Connelly.  She was the loving mother of Gwendolyn “Dee” Ashby and the Step-mother of Betty Ann Tomlinson and June Livingston.  She was the grandmother of Sarah E. Ashby and Joseph Livingston.  She was predeceased by her sister Dorothy Castagnera.

Shirley enjoyed dancing.  She loved going to Bible Study and was a committed member of Bible Study for more than 22 years.  She was a member of the St. Johns Lutheran Church in Glen Arm, MD.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 18 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM  at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD.  On Thursday, May 19, from 10 to 11 A.M. a visitation will be held prior to a Funeral Service at 11 A.M. at the St. Johns Lutheran Church, 13300 Manor Road, Glen Arm, MD.

Officiating will be Rev. Paul W. Richter.

Interment will be at Loudon Park Cemetery in Baltimore, MD.
