Zollie Boone Johnson, of Aberdeen, passed away on March 26. He was 83.

He was born in Durham, North Carolina, to the late Zollie Jerome Johnson and the late Nellie Mae Johnson.

He was the loving companion of Lorraine Adams of Aberdeen, MD. He is survived by Lorraine Adams’ children, Mark Adams, Dennis Adams, and Rita Matherly. He was the dear brother of Mathes Lee Johnson, of Aberdeen, Ervin Johnson of Salem, S.C., Iva-Ly Kelly of Riverside, MD, and Shirley Faye Dixon of Clarksville, TN. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Johnson served in the U.S. Navy after high school. After his service in the Navy, he worked for the Department of Public Works in Aberdeen. He thoroughly enjoyed his co-workers and considered them his extended family. After retiring from the D.P.W., he drove a bus for the AberdeenSeniorCenter for many years.

He spent his free time in the outdoors. He enjoyed walking and hiking. He also loved watching the sun rise and was an avid fisherman.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, March 29, from  2-4 and 6-8 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, Maryland 21078. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 30, at 11:00 AM, at the funeral home. Rev. Ken Tipton will officiate. Interment will be held at HarfordMemorialGardens.

Pallbearers will be Mark Adams, Dennis Adams, Rico Albacarys, Taylor Kawaihae, Robbie Cooper, and Walter Johnson.
