Obituary for Carl Lee Tharp

Carl Lee Tharp, of Bel Air, MD, passed away on March 12, 2018. He was 78.
Mr. Tharp was born in Renick, West Virginia to Howard and Nellie Tharp. He was the devoted husband of Patty L. Tharp for 23 years, loving father of Carl Lee Tharp, Jr., Allen Thomas Tharp, Tina Marie Jones, Andrew Ryan Tharp, Kevin Lee Dowell, Keith Dowell, Dolores Kelly and Dottie Bortmes. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and his sister, Emma Jean Walker.
Mr. Tharp served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked at Thiokol- ATK Corporation and Cecil County Public Schools. He attended Bethel Apostolic Church and loved old cars.
A viewing will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018, from 11 AM until 1 PM, at Bethel Apostolic Church, 21 North Earlton Road, Ext., Havre de Grace, MD. Funeral services will begin at 1 PM. Pastor Buddy Flosser will officiate. Interment will be held at Harford Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be made at www.zellmanfuneralhome.com.
