Obituary for Carol Liedtke Montgomery (Liedtke)
Carol L Montgomery, 78, born May 26, 1943, of Havre de Grace, MD, died March 17, 2022 due to health complications from a fall and an earlier stroke. Carol was the daughter of the late Alfred W and Mabel Walters Liedtke of Aberdeen, MD.
Carol is survived by her husband, Alvin P Montgomery, with whom she enjoyed 55 years of marriage. Carol’s sisters are Elizabeth L White (Louis), of Doylestown, PA, and the late Alayne Hallman (Jim), of Fort Walton Beach, FL. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Charles Montgomery (Esther) of Nottingham, PA, and Judy Montgomery Martorana also of Nottingham, PA, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and nephews Eric and Doug White.
Carol was a proud graduate of Aberdeen High School. After graduating, she was employed at various banks in Aberdeen.
Carol loved dancing, walking on the boardwalk, picnics, birds, butterflies, gardening, her past dog, Denver, and Old Bay Shrimp. She also loved the water whether sailing on the bay off of Havre de Grace, or sticking her toes in the ocean at Rehoboth Beach, DE. Traveling was a favorite of Carol’s, especially to Ft. Walton Beach, FL to visit with her Dad and sister.
The family wants to thank and recognize neighbors, Dave and Pat, as well as her stepdaughter, Judy, for their caring and concern after these last many months.
A service of remembrance for Carol will be held at a later date during Spring.
