Obituary for Catherine Deibel (Elder)
Catherine Elder Deibel, of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on September 3, 2021. She was 80.
Mrs. Deibel was born in Havre de Grace, MD, to George Robert Elder and Helen Ludwig Elder. She was the devoted wife of 52 years to George F. Deibel, III, loving mother of George F. Deibel, IV, John R. “J.R.” Deibel, Patrick Andrew “Andy” Deibel (Brandy), and the late Erin Kathleen Deibel. She was the grandmother of Alexis Attarabeen (Omar), Katelynn Deibel, Brett Forton, Mary Elder, Hannah Deibel, and Coby Deibel, and 4 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Deibel was the sister of Carol Bryson, Rosemary Pinamonti, Bob Elder, Michael Elder, and Dennis Elder.
Mrs. Deibel retired from Perry Point VAMC as a Volunteer Coordinator. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Soroptimist International of Havre de Grace, and was a former President of Aberdeen JAYCEE’s Wive’s Club. She played Party Bridge with the same group for 40 years, enjoyed gardening, and was an avid Mystery reader. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021, from 6-8 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington St., Havre de Grace, MD. A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021, at 9:45 AM, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 615 Congress Avenue, Havre de Grace, MD. Interment will be held at Angel Hill Cemetery.
