Obituary for Charles Miller "Chuck" Lowe

Charles “Chuck” Miller Lowe sadly left us on January 31, 2024, at the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center Bel Air, at the age of 72.

Chuck was the epitome of resilience, dedication, and kindness.

Chuck was born on November 6, 1951, in Havre de Grace, Md., to Charles B. Lowe and Vera (Logan) Lowe.
Chuck worked as a master plumber for Amtrak for more than 30 years. His craftsmanship and expertise were unrivaled, and his work ethic was an inspiration to all who knew him.

Chuck was the husband of the late Judy Churchman Lowe. The couple had two children, Yancy Lowe and his wife Kenna, and Jolene Calaf and her husband Chris. Chuck was a loving and proud Pop-Pop to his grandchildren: Ethan Calaf, Nathaniel Lowe, Adrian Calaf, and Addison Lowe. His love and humor will forever be remembered in their hearts. He is survived by his sister-in-law Bonny (Churchman) Skalecky and husband Jim, brother-in-law Robert Churchman and wife Stephanie, six nieces and nephews, and sister Sharon Lowe.
During his life, Chuck was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, and Susquehanna Hose Company. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and loved to listen to country and bluegrass music. Chuck enjoyed tractors and steam engines, worked on cars with his best friend Bobby Keen. Everyone who met Chuck felt his genuine kindness. He treated friends as family and was always ready to lend a helping hand, making him known as “everyone’s handyman”. Chuck especially loved eating at his favorite restaurants. He also enjoyed attending, supporting, and watching his grandchildren’s school performances and extracurricular sports.
