Obituary for Charles Mirzwa

Charles Mirzwa of Havre de Grace, MD was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at the MedStar Franklin Square Seasons Hospice. He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years Jacqueline A. (Davis) Mirzwa. He was born in New Jersey, November 9, 1934 to the late Joseph and Mery (Kikena)Mirzwa.
Charles spent much of his career working in Petroleum sales and towards the latter of his career working for sales and maintenance for the Hess Oil Company. He was an avid woodworker, loved working outdoors landscaping his yard, as well as his summer vegetable garden. Charles loved baseball, the Baltimore Orioles and especially watching his grandson play for the Havre de Grace Warriors. He was most known for his love of the phone and communicating with his family, calling every day, several times a day, to check on his beloved daughter and grandchildren. Charles loved being apart of the everyday life of his family, wanting to know about all their activities and attending Grandparents day at their schools. He left behind his beloved Schnauzer “Bonnie”.
Charles is survived by his loving children; Deborah Brown and her spouse Orest Harasymczuk, Kevin C. Mirzwa and his wife Danielle and the late Elizabeth Langan. He was the devoted grandfather of 8 grandchildren; Colin Langan, William Brown, Daniel Brown, Katherine Brown, Rebecca Harasymczuk, Kaleigh Harasymczuk, Lucas Mirzwa and Kaiden Mirzwa. In addition to his parents, Charles is predeceased by his brother and two sisters.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2020 from 5 to 8 P.M. at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD 21078. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 10th at 11am at the Havre de Grace United Methodist Church, 101 S. Union Avenue, Havre de Grace, MD 21078. Officiating will be Pastor Norman Obenshain.
