Claude “Woody” Everette Wood, of Port Deposit, MD, passed away on August 21, 018. He was 89.
Mr. Wood was born in Bel Air, MD, to Floyd Lector Wood and Lessie Brown Markovich. He was the devoted husband of 63 years to the late Millie “Ruth” Wood, loving father of Ronald Albert Wood of Port Deposit, MD, and the late Michael Everette Wood. He was the grandfather of Travis Everette Wood, of Roanoke, VA, Morganne Marie Wood of Port Deposit, MD, and Monica Lynn Wood of La Mesa, CA. He was the brother of Peyton Wood of Florida, Sybil Lovelace of Pennsylvania, and the late Floyd Lector Wood, Jr., Kenneth Wood, Stanley Kernan, and Ruby Dillow
Mr. Wood served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion and the National Rifle Association. He loved motorcycles and collecting military memorabilia.
A viewing will be held on Friday, August 24, 2018, from 5-8 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 11:00 AM, at the funeral home. Pastor Ron Smith will officiate. Interment will be held at Bel Air Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Travis Wood, Joseph Tayson, Daniel Tayson, Billie Jean Fender, Donna Tayson, and Robin Brewer.
