Obituary for Donald John Spinazzola
Donald John Spinazzola, of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on November 14, 2022. He was 92.
Mr. Spinazzola was born in Altoona, PA, to Anthony Spinazzola and Donatina “Margaret” Ferrone Spinazzola. He was the devoted husband of 70 years to Carol Ann Spinazzola, loving father of Donatina Brinegar (the late Warren), Diane Adkins (Thomas), and David Spinazzola (Judi Wettig), grandfather of Kelly Snyder (Russell), Tommy Adkins (fiancé Alley), Christi Jerscheid (Adam), Joel Wettig (Ashley), and the late Kyle Brinegar, and great-grandfather of Brandon and Christopher Jerscheid. Mr. Spinazzola was the brother of Dick Spinazzola (Debbie) and the late Betty Petrogallo (the late Fred).
Mr. Spinazzola studied electrical engineering at Penn State then served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his military service, he worked at Aberdeen Proving Ground until retirement. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, and history. He was a talented artist and painter and adored his beloved cat, Emmalynn. Mr. Spinazzola could repair almost anything and was quite proficient at complex problem solving.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022, from 1:00-2:00 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington St., Havre de Grace, MD. Funeral services will begin at 2 PM. Father Francis Ouma will officiate. Interment is private.
