Dr. John Joseph Jordan, of Havre de Grace, Maryland, passed away on January 30, 2021. He was 85.
Dr. Jordan was born in Harding, PA, to Jack Jordan and Melvina Tillman Jordan. He was the devoted husband of the late Flora Ann Jordan, loving father of Michael Jordan (Lee) of Drexel Hill, PA, and John Jordan (Laura) of Reisterstown, MD. He was the grandfather of Lauren, Katie, Sarah, Madison, and Brianna Jordan, and brother of Johannes O’Connor and the late Melvina Sweeney.
Dr. Jordan graduated from St. John’s High School in Pittston, PA, where he met his wife Flora. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Scranton University in 1958, his Master’s Degree from the university of MD in 1959, and then attended the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, where he was able to teach classes as he attended school. Dr. Jordan served in the U.S. Army from 1964-66 at Fort Knox, earning the rank of Captain. He and his wife moved to Havre de Grace, MD, in 1968 and he ran his own dental practice until 2018. He was extremely active with the Harford/ Cecil Dental Society and attended Continuing Education Classes after retirement to keep in touch with his colleagues. Dr. Jordan was also an avid skier, sailor, and boater and loved being outside.
A Funeral Mass and a Celebration of Life will held Saturday, May 8, 2021, at 11:00 AM in St. Patrick's Catholic Church Hall.
