Obituary for Earl Everett Aldrich

MSG Earl Everett Aldrich, USA, Ret., of Havre de Grace, MD, formerly of Clarksville, TN, passed away on August 5, 2015. He was 88.
MSG (Ret) Aldrich was born in Howland, Maine, to the late Charles Lynn Aldrich and Eunice Royal Aldrich. He was the devoted husband of the late Margarete M. Aldrich, loving father of Elke Anthony of Havre de Grace, MD, Eunice Robison of Hot Springs, AR, and Evelyn Louise Hodge and her husband James D. Hodge, II, of LaFargeville, NY. He was the grandfather of 6, great-grandfather of 13, and great-great-grandfather of 2. He was the brother of Duane Aldrich, Gail Mankiewicz, Muriel Hamilton, and the late Charlene Lappa, Juanita Brown, and Roberta “Pinkie” Miller. MSG (Ret) Aldrich is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his, step-mom Ruth Coffin Aldrich.
MSG (Ret) Aldrich was a “Jack of All Trades, and Master of None”. He loved salvaging old items to fix up as new or make them useable again. He was active with the Girl Scouts when his daughters were younger. He often helped his wife with crafting and jewelry making, especially beadwork with sports bracelets and necklaces. He enjoyed woodworking and made several birdhouses for his wife. MSG (Ret) Aldrich was also an avid fisherman.
He served in the U.S. Army for 27 years, serving in World War II, the Korean War, and Vietnam.
A viewing will be held on Monday, August 10, 2015, from 11:00 AM until 1:00PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM. Patricia Dobson will officiate. Interment will be held at Harford Memorial Gardens.
