Obituary for Fannie Evelyn "Evy" Wagoner (Billings)

Fannie Evelyn Wagoner (Evy), of Aberdeen, MD, peacefully passed away on April 19, 2021. She was 82. She has gone home to join her Parents, 9 Siblings, Husband, and her 5 children who preceded her in death, Gary Franklin, Roger Clinton, Kenny Ray, David Allen Wagoner and Deborah Lynn Simons.

Mrs. Wagoner was born in Sparta, NC, to the Rev. Conley Lonzo Billings and Margie Lee Halsey Billings. She was the devoted wife of the late Clay Clinton Wagoner. A loving Mother, Nanny, Great Grandmother, and Great-Great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughter Karen Lea & her husband Joe DeHaven of Havre de Grace, MD. Mrs. Wagoner had 20 grandchildren, 2 of which preceded her in death, Joey Wayne DeHaven, Jr., and David Alexander Simons, III. She had 42 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and friends

Mrs. Wagoner worked at the New Ideal Diner in Aberdeen, MD creating memories, making friends with co-workers and entertaining her customers daily for 34 years. After retiring and moving to Sparta, TN she opened Evy’s Kountry Kitchen as an owner/operator which she enjoyed greatly.

Mrs. Wagoner loved to cook and have family gatherings. All were invited and she never turned away a single person. Her hobbies included going to yard sales, Antiquing, and refinishing furniture.
Pallbearers escorting Mrs. Wagoner to her final resting place will be Eric Wagoner, Kevin Simons, Lisa Simons, Cynthia Bolyard, Devin Simons, and Erika DeHaven. Honorary Pallbearers are Joe DeHaven, Antwone Williams, & Kayla Wagoner.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 22, 2021, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington St., Havre de Grace, MD. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021, at 12:00 PM, at the funeral home. Services will also be Livestreamed via Facebook @ Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., or on the funeral home website. Interment will be held at Harford Memorial Gardens.
