Obituary for George Richard Coyle

George R. Coyle of Churchville, MD passed away on February 19, 2022, at the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. He was 80 years old and the devoted spouse of 30 years to Andrea G. Lematta.
Born in Lexington, Kentucky to the late Obie and Edith Coyle. George is survived by his sons George Michael “Mike” Coyle (Sandy) and Jeff Coyle (Bre); grandfather to Shaelyn “Mimi” Coyle and Ashleigh Coyle; great-grandfather of Jayden Coyle. He was the loving brother of the late Margaret Reisner (the late Charlie Reisner), Vernon Coyle and Shelby Coyle, survived by his sisters-in-law Edith and Patricia Coyle. Mr. Coyle was the uncle of Douglas Coyle, Patrick Reisner, Rick Reisner, Thomas and Steve Ritchie. He was the devoted friend of more than 20 years to Lynn Vickers and her husband Jim and their children Drew and Stephen.
George was a Farrier by trade, but his true love was training race horses. He traveled all over the country to care for and to race horses. He could always be found in the barn or at the racetrack. George will be remembered as one of the “last great horsemen” of his time.
As we grieve the loss of our dear friend, always remember his favorite saying, “It’ll work out like a good thing”.
A Celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
