In Loving Memory of James Lee Alexander
James Lee Alexander, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, peacefully passed away on January 29, 2024, at the age of 84. Born in Virginia, he was the son of the late James R. and Francis Louise (Strother) Alexander.
James dedicated his life to hard work and providing for his family. Though he may not have obtained a formal education, his resilience and determination enabled him to establish a successful roofing business throughout his career in the construction industry. His commitment to quality craftsmanship earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.
He loved fishing, cooking, and writing. James enjoyed the warm weather and loved being active outdoors. James was raised in church, attending The Church of God in Annapolis, MD. James' loved reading his bible and was devoted to faith in God. He was an amazing storyteller, who would share amazing stories of his childhood, life, and experiences he had in life with all his family and friends. James adored his fur-babies, and he considered them to be a part of his family. James leaves behind his beloved dog Jerry Lee. James was dedicated to those he loved, he treasured and loved his family more than anything.
James is survived by his loving daughter, Robin Phillips, and son-in-law Warren Phillips, as well as daughter Tina Walker and son-in-law Michael Walker, James's legacy lives on through his children. He is also fondly remembered by his son, James "Randy" Alexander, whose upbringing was enriched by James's wisdom and guidance.
James will be dearly missed by his cherished grandchildren, Cody Alexander and his wife Chelsea, Savannah Barwick, and Remington Barwick, whose lives were brightened by his presence. James's great-grandchildren, Blake Alexander, Addison Frizell, Caroline Alexander, and soon to be Harrison John Simons, will carry his memory with them always. He will be forever remembered by his surviving siblings, Betty Smoot, Louise Kiehn and brother-in-law Roy Kiehn, Barbara Martin and brother-in-law Ray Martin, Robert Sutphin, and Susan Jacobsen.
To honor James Lee Alexander's remarkable life, a graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens on February 5, 2024, at 11:00 am. Friends, family, and acquaintances are invited to pay their respects to a man whose hard work and dedication to his loved ones made a lasting impact.
As we celebrate his life, let us remember James as a compassionate, strong-willed individual who brought joy to those around him. His presence will forever be felt in the hearts of those who loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a local charity of your choice, symbolizing James's selflessness and his commitment to supporting the community.
