Obituary for John Popa Jr.
John Popa, Jr., of Baldwin, MD, passed away on March 1, 2023. He was 79.
Mr. Popa was born in Baltimore, MD, to John Popa, Sr., and Elizabeth Daphene Popa. Mr. Popa was the devoted husband of Tommie Popa, loving father of Christine Seilback (Jason), Rachel Popa, Jeremy Popa, and the late Jonathan Popa. He was the grandfather of Jonathan, Victoria, Ethan and Kinsley Seilback and brother of the late Eli Roman and Elizabeth Baker.
Mr. Popa served in the Army Reserves for 6 years. He owned and operated Christian’s Tire Company in Baltimore, MD, and enjoyed working. After retirement from his tire company, he drove a school bus. He enjoyed going for rides, hanging out with his friends, and traveling with his wife. One of his favorite places was Lake George. Mr. Popa never met a stranger and would talk with everyone he met. He loved to read his Bible, watch religious television, and served on several mission trips throughout the world. Mr. Popa was also an Ancient Free and Accepted Mason.
A service will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at 1 PM, at Fellowship Chapel, 3821 Federal Hill Road, Jarrettsville, MD 21084.
