Obituary for Lois Burdette Crouse (Burdette)

Lois Burdette Crouse of Aberdeen, MD, passed away on November 12, 2022. She was 75.

Mrs. Crouse was born in Baltimore, MD, to Douglas Charles Burdette and Lillian Virginia Schaefer Burdette. She was the devoted wife of William Owen Crouse of 54 years. She was the loving mother of Jennifer Lillian Mothershed, William Owen Crouse, Jr. and his wife Alicia, and Robert Douglas Crouse. Adored grandmother of Miranda Jordan Lillian Mothershed, Kylie Nicole Mothershed, Dominick Owen Crouse, and Nicholas Robert Crouse. She was the sister of Alan Burdette and the late Douglas Burdette.

Mrs. Crouse graduated from Havre de Grace High School in 1965 and Harford Community College in 1968. She worked at Aberdeen Proving Ground from 1968-1977, then stayed home to raise her 3 children, until returning to work as a switchboard operator at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center from 2000-2009. Mrs. Crouse was a member and deacon at Churchville Presbyterian Church, a member of American Legion Post 47 Auxiliary, the Homemaker’s Club, the Golden Age Club, and Volunteered at Steppingstone Museum for many years. She enjoyed crafting and craft shows and was an avid reader and gardener.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022, from 5-8 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington St., Havre de Grace, MD. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022, at 11:00 AM, at the funeral home. A reception to follow will be at the American Legion, 501 St John Street, Havre de Grace, MD.
