Obituary for Mary Margaret Garinther (Farrell)

Mary Margaret Garinther of Havre de Grace, MD, 85 and the beloved wife of the late Georges Robert Garinther, passed away on December 14, 2020, surrounded by the love of her family.

She was Born in Erie, PA to the late Charles Michael Farrell and Margaret Nellie Huyck-Farrell. Mary was the devoted mother of Geoff Garinther (Carol), John Garinther (Sara), Janet Garinther (Michael Thompson) and Ann Garinther, grandmother of Kathryn McKenzie Tower (John “Hutch”), Katie Lynn Thompson, Carly Nicole Thompson, Grace Mae Garinther, Andrew Charles Garinther, Alexander Robert Garinther, Benjamin Richard Garinther, Natalie Dorian Garinther and great-grandmother of Henry James Tower and Poppy Olivia Tower. Mary is survived by her sister, Treva Ann Laskowski, and was predeceased by her brother, Gerald Timothy Farrell, and sisters Janet Marie Bindseil and Karen Marie Selleny.

Mary was a lifelong congregant of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church; an avid volunteer for the Havre de Grace Lockhouse Museum; and an enthusiastic member of the Young at Heart. More than anything else, though, she loved being a mother, a grandmother, and a great-grandmother. Her last 18 months were filled with laughter at the antics of her twin great-grandchildren, Poppy and Henry, who along with their parents, Katie and Hutch, lived with and cared for her.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at 10:00 AM, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 615 Congress Avenue, Havre de Grace, MD 21078.
