If you were fortunate enough to know Mary Horley you would not be able to miss her energy, compassion, generosity and courage. Oh how she laughed and oh how she loved her family, always there for them, listening, supporting and inspiring, their teacher and audience. She was very intelligent but not pretentious, with a brilliant husband, bright daughters and son in laws. She knew when to love, when to teach and when to make a good Italian meal.

She took care of people, through friendship, thoughtfulness, faith. When I was recuperating from an accident and restricted to bed with pain and boredom, she called me every day, EVERY DAY, despite her busy life with her young family. Her news of the outside world and words of encouragement lifted my spirts and gave me something to look forward to. I would bet my bottom dollar that there are several more people out there that have had similar experiences because there was no stopping her when she saw a friend in need.

Gary, Chris and Scott, Linn and Peter, Frank and children, many friends, we are all grieving. I know that she has a permanent place in your hearts and she will be remembered.

And so, Mary, off to heaven you go.
