Obituary for Michael William Lee

Colonel Michael W. Lee, USA, Retired, of Havre de Grace, MD passed away in his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was 66. He was the devoted husband of Kennon M. (Simpers) Lee for 34 years.

Michael was born in Germany to the late Owen Wayne Lee, Sr. and Emily (Herzog) Lee.

Michael was the beloved father to Matthew “Matt” Michael Lee and the late William “Willie” Charles Lee. He was the proud grandfather of Gavin William Lee, Gaige Matthew Lee and Camden Michael Lee. Devoted brother of Owen W. Lee, Jr. (Judith) and Edward G. Lee (Deborah). He was the Uncle to a nephew, 2 nieces, great nephews and nieces.

Colonel Lee was a proud veteran of the United States Army after devoted service for more than 30 years. He was an avid golf player and was a member of the Professional Golfers’ Association. Michael was on the Ruggles Monday Night Golf League, as well as a member of Ruggles Golf Course. He loved baseball and was a coach for the Havre de Grace Little League for many years with his sons, as well as a Board member. Michael was also a Havre de Grace Little League coach for his grandson’s teams. He was inducted into the Havre de Grace Little League Hall of Fame. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and the Red Cross. After retiring from civil service at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Michael also worked for the Baltimore Orioles.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, August 13, 2017 from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD

A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 10 A.M. at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A.
