Perena Cianelli-Fair, of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on June 14, 2023. She was 89. Perena was born on April 29, 1934, in Havre de Grace, MD, to Bernardo Cianelli and Frances Casimo Cianelli. Perena is survived by her daughters Sharon Fair (Gary McDonald) and Sheila Boyd (Kevin), her four grandchildren Gavin Boyd (Caitlin Cochran), Erica Boyd (George Psichis), Embury Fair-Russell (Melody Smith), and Carly Boyd (James Antonoplos), as well as her sister Louise Silsby (Graham), and brothers Tony Cianelli and Phil Cianelli (Doris). She also leaves behind many cousins, nephews, and nieces. Perena was known as “Sis” to her siblings and extended family, and “Mommom” to her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Perena was preceded in death by her sisters Matilda Wagoner and Mary Kalmbacher, her brother Carmen Cianelli, and her son, SP4 Michael James Fair of the US Army Special Forces, Green Berets. Perena was a member of the American Gold Star Mothers.
Perena worked as a secretary and program manager at Aberdeen Proving Ground, where she was known as “Perri,” for 47 years. She volunteered for her HOA, Grace Place, the Kaufman Cancer Center, and the Harford County Election Board. Perena was a member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, making flower arrangements, cooking, baking, reading, completing crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family.
Perena was previously married to Donald J. Fair and Bernard M. Davall.
A private graveside service will be held at Harford Memorial Gardens, where she will be interred next to her son.
