Obituary for Richard Melvin Long Jr.

Richard Melvin Long, Jr., of Baltimore, MD, passed away on December 15, 2019. He was 43.
Mr. Long was born in Baltimore, MD, to Richard Melvin Long, Sr., and Barbara Elaine Long. He was the husband of Sara Long, father of Hope Alexandra Long and Richard Melvin Long, III. He was the brother of Christina Long, Amanda Bangert and her fiancé Josh Fenwick, Dustin Bangert, Jeffrey “JR” Ruszczewski, II, Jake Davis, Heather Hester, Brittany Hester, Cody Long, Danielle Hastmann and her husband Eric. Mr. Long was also survived by his stepfather James Wise, his step-mother Tammy Long, his mother-in-law Lisa Ferrara, his former wife and the mother of his children Nicole Long, his brother-in-law Robert “Bobby” Petr, and his nieces and nephews, Robbie Lynn, Khloe, Ashlee, Jayden “Spike”, Trevor, Dylan, Brianna and Alexis, Kinsley, Allen, Craig Jr, and Josh, his uncle, David Colwell (cousin Mathew Colwell), Aunt Betty Lam & Uncle Bill Lam (cousin Andrea Smith and her husband Ian) (cousin Richard Mattiello Jr., and his wife Ashely), Aunt, Tracey Colwell (cousin Sarah Soska) (cousin Adam Johnson), Aunt-Cyndi Long (cousin Caitlyn ) (cousin Chassity), Aunt Becky Ayscue and Uncle Bruce Ayscue.
He was predeceased by his brothers Craig Davis, and Jack Poling, his stepfather, Danny Bangert, his uncle Mike Davis, uncle Leroy Holder and uncle Rodney Long .
Mr. Long was a Freelance Tattoo Artist, covering Maryland and Northern Virginia. He always tattooed free for Autism Awareness and Breast Cancer Awareness. He loved riding and working on motorcycles and race cars. He loved promoting himself in his work and as a spokesman with the Thrive Initiative. Mr. Long gave the gift of life through organ donation on December 17, 2019.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2019, from 5-8 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2019, at 3:00 PM, at Presbury United Methodist Church, 806 Edgewood Road, Edgewood, MD 21040.
