Obituary for Robert Junior Vaught
Robert “Bob” Junior Vaught, of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2022 at the age of 87.
Bob was born in Henderson, KY, to the late Hubbard and Lorene Jewell Vaught. He was a devoted husband, loving father and adoring grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janet Marie Vaught; son Kent Vaught and his wife Danielle of Havre de Grace; grandchildren Keith and Madison Vaught. He was preceded in death by his son Keith Allen Vaught; daughter Lorie Vaught; brothers Jerry Vaught and Thomas Vaught; and sister Lois Emory.
Bob retired from the U.S. Army after 21 years of service which included tours in both the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He served as Chief Inspector of Roads and Highways for Harford County for 18 years. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion Post 47. Along with hunting and fishing, Bob enjoyed rebuilding old cars, riding 4-Wheelers, building computers, and he was an avid Cal Ripken Jr. fan. He cherished his wife, children, and grandchildren, and loved spending time with his family and friends.
A viewing will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022, from 2-4, and 6-8 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington St., Havre de Grace, MD. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 11:00 AM, at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Harford Memorial Gardens.
