Obituary for Samuel Francis Collemacine

Samuel Francis Collemacine of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away at the Harford Memorial Hospital on April 27, 2023. He was 91 years old and the beloved husband of the late Doris I. (Lamb) Collemacine.
Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Salvatore Collemacine and Michelina T. LaPalombaro, he was the loving father of Susan Wettig (Ronald) and Bryan J. Collemacine (Andrew Upton), grandfather of Stephen Schmidt (Betsy), great-grandfather of Stella Rose Schmidt and brother of the late Carolyn DiGiambatista. Survived by his best friend Joe Donohue.
Mr. Collemacine after graduating High School, enlisted in the United States Army, where he served in the Korean War. After his time in the military, he returned home where he was a schoolteacher for many years, working as an Architectural Engineer, expanding his talents in carpentry, masonry, plumbing and electrical work. Mr. Collemacine built several homes, finished basements, and left his talents in many of his family and Friends homes. He was an avid ballroom dancer, where he and his late wife Doris competed in competitive ballroom dancing. Mr. Collemacine and his wife Doris loved traveling, taking cruises and always loved a grand adventure. They both traveled to Mexico, Panama Canal, Israel, Egypt, Caribbean and several other places. Mr. Collemacine was a true animal lover, having many beloved pets in his days, including his pet Macaw bird “Ziggy.” He was a member of the Young at Heart and the Havre de Grace Community Center. Mr. Collemacine was a “Jack of all Trades” and kept himself busy.
A celebration of life will be held on May 20th, 2023, from 11 ~1 P.M. at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD 21078. Where an interment at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery will remain private.
