Obituary for Sharon Dawn "Shinny" Santmyer (Klug)
Sharon “Shinny” Dawn Santmyer, of Conowingo, Maryland, passed away on September 13, 2022. She was 49 years old.
Sharon was born in Baltimore, Maryland, to Eugene Victor Klug, Jr., and Mary Edith Holley Klug Amerson. She was the devoted wife of Richard W. Santmyer, Jr., loving mother of Emily Santmyer, Richard W. Santmyer, III, and David Santmyer, dear sister of Eugene Victor Klug, III, (Wanda), Mary Kathryn Neese (Stephen, Sr.), and Kimberly Ryan (Tim). She was also survived by her Mother-in-law, Patricia Jean Santmyer, God-sister, Victoriaus Rippin, sister-in-laws, Sherry Groswold (Michael), and Laurie White (Donnie), brother-in-law, Danny Santmyer (Paige), several nieces, Mary Lynne (John), Katie, Hannah, Mary, Mya, Miranda, Fawn, Tara, Jordan, Shannon, Sky, Maggie; nephews, Stephen Jr, Mason, Nathan (Alexis), Michael, Shane, Cody, Colin; great-nieces, Mackenzie, Mackenna, Riley, Aleah; and great-nephews, Joseph, Landon, Stephen III, Emrik, Levi; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Klug, Jr., her father-in-law Richard Santmyer, Sr., her nephews, Erik Klug and Jamie Minter.
Sharon was a member of the Pentecostals of York (UPCI). She loved her family and taking care of her children, and others. She thrived on sharing God’s word while teaching Sunday School. Sharon enjoyed cooking, reading, and was a lot of fun to be around.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022, from 11 AM until 1 PM, at Bethel Christian Academy, 21 North Earlton Road, Havre de Grace, MD 21078. Funeral services will begin at 1 PM, at Bethel Christian Center. Interment will be held at Hopewell Cemetery, Port Deposit, MD. Bishop Jerry Tipton will officiate.
