Stella Mae Abshire

Stella Mae Abshire of Darlington, MD, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2008 at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace, Maryland. She was 92.

Mrs. Abshire was born in Carsinville, Virginia to the Late Wiley Monroe and Rosa (Weaver) Baldwin. She was the wife of the Late Carl Franklin Abshire.

Stella was the loving mother to Debbie J. Collopy and her husband David of Darlington, Maryland. She was a devoted aunt to her two nieces: Sandra J. Palmer of Knoxville, TN and Carolyn Lewis of Salisbury, Maryland.

Mrs. Abshire was predeceased by 11 siblings. She is survived by many loving friends and family members.

Mrs. Stella had retired from Glenn Eagles Bel Air Manufacturing after 25 years of service as a sewing machine operator. She enjoyed growing her garden with vegetables and flowers. She enjoyed baking, canning, crocheting and quilting. She was a member of the Handicaps Club of Harford County. She was a member of the Victorious Faith Fellowship in Forest Hill, Maryland.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2008, from 3 PM to 6 PM at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington St., Havre de Grace, Maryland 21078.

A service will be held on Monday, March 3, 2008, at the Funeral Home, please contact the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., at 10:00 AM.

Interment will be at HarfordMemorialGardens in Aberdeen, Maryland.
