Vicki it's hard for me to realize that you're gone. I find myself landing on your facebook page or thinking about texting you- and it's hard that we can't speak anymore in this plane... but a friend reminded me that now we can talk whenever we like and you've visited me in a few dreams- so that's something.

You were such a hilarious woman! I think I can still hear you big laugh sometimes, and I miss laughing together.

Thank you for sharing with me your love of handiwork- like needlepoint/crochet/knitting- I treasure all the pieces you made for me! Every night now we snuggle under that big afghan you knitted for my graduation- it's such a beautiful cable stitch. You said that in your family everyone got an afghan when they crossed that milestone to adulthood- that's pretty cool that you thought to include me in that tradition.

Thank you for sharing with me your love of cats. Now I have two of my own, and I think I'm starting to understand what being a cat mom is about :)

We always enjoyed cozy murder mysteries together- like Hercule Poirot, miss marple, midsommer murders with detective barnaby... basically any of them. When I was little I was amazed that you always knew who the murderer was... lol!

I think of you when I make deep dish apple pies, when I do the NY Times crossword puzzle with a mechanical pencil, chocolate desserts!, baking cookies with royal icing- we tried to be like Martha Stewart, when I'm cozy on the couch reading a murder mystery, when Star Wars is on TV, and when a cat is asleep curled up beside me.

You were such a brilliant person with the biggest heart! Thank you for loving me so much.

Vicki was my very special friend for over 20 years who was more like a sister. Her ability to brighten up my day and make me laugh was one of the most endearing qualities of my sister. She loved my two girls, Jenn, her goddaughter, and Halley like they were her own. Vicki, know you are missed but not forgotten. Love Nancy K.

I will always remember how welcoming Vicki was to all around her, especially the ATEC HQ TTD team. She made everyone feel that there was a TTD family, not merely colleagues. I fondly remember her 7-layer desserts, which were as sweet as she was. As a fellow Arizona transplant to Virginia, she made sure I settled into life outside the desert, in the “big city” of Alexandria. She and Don invited me to many dinners in their home, or to meet at local restaurants. And she was a wonderful story-teller as well as friend. Thank you for your friendship, Vicki.

Fondly, Denise.
