Obituary for William Rae "Bill" Ertel
William (Bill) Rae Ertel, 84, of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away July 11, 2022 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air after a brief illness.
Born in Cincinnati, OH on April 24, 1938, Bill was the son of the late William and Mildred Thompson Ertel. He was employed by the AT & T company working in management and has been retired for 32 years. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of over 61 years, Joyce Bowling Ertel, two sons, William Jeffrey Ertel and his wife Linda of Woodstock, GA, and Eric Ertel of Ellicott City, MD; 8 grandchildren, William Jacob, Joshua, Jessica, Jenna of Woodstock GA., Nicholas, Alex, Ian, of Parker CO. and Zachery Ertel of Ellicott city MD; and 5 great grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his son Gregory Ertel.
A celebration of Bill's life will be held at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington St, Havre de Grace, MD 21078 on Saturday September 3, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation beginning at 10:00 am.
