Alan Robert Downs
Alan R. Downs of Aberdeen, MD passed away at home on August 19, 2009. He was 71.
Mr. Downs was born in Topeka, Kansas to the Late W.R. and Myrtle (Nix) Downs. He was a devoted husband to Georgia C. Downs.
He is survived by his children David Parker and his wife Marci of Arizona, Jimmy Dobbs and Bob Karikas both of PA and Diana Schenkel and her husband Richard of Aberdeen, MD. He was a loving grandfather to Annelise Morris and Andrea Morris both of Aberdeen, MD, Crystal Gross and her husband of FL, Tyler and Gabriel Parker both of Arizona. He was a great-grandfather of Tyler and Chasen Gross of FL. He is survived by his sister of Jean Bobick and her husband Jay of Colorado.
Mr. Downs was a retired Physicist of ARL for the Aberdeen Proving Ground. He enjoyed astronomy and war history. He loved writing.
A Memorial Graveside service will be held on Friday, August 28, 2009 at 2 PM, at Harford Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen, MD.
