Obituary

Ambyr Deanna Hodges, a cherished daughter, sister, and artist, passed away unexpectedly at her home on June 29, 2025. Born on September 16, 1985, in the heart of the close-knit community of Havre de Grace, she brought a radiance into the world that continued to glow throughout her 39 years of life.

Raised by her loving parents, Karen Ruth Hodges and Jann Blevins, Gary Bradford Hodges and Brenda Sundell, Ambyr's early years were filled with the warmth and support of a devoted family. She shared an unbreakable bond with her siblings, Brandon Gary Hodges, Nicholas Andrew Blevins, Jann Michael Blevins and Robert Phillip Blevins, all of whom grew up to cherish the memories they created together. Ambyr was a beacon of joy for her grandfather, Howard "Bud" Wasmer, grandmother, Patricia J. Wasmer, "bonus grandfather," Jeff Welch , grandmother, Wynona Hodges as well as her godparents, Sandra and Robert Richardson. Her extended family, including her uncle Mark Wasmer, uncle Larry Hodges, aunt Anita Johns and uncle John Hodges and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, all held a special place in her heart.

Ambyr's passion for art was evident from a young age, leading her to pursue and achieve a degree from the Maryland College Institute of Art. Her talent in various media was not only a career but a calling. She expressed herself through her creations, leaving a legacy of beauty that spoke to her intelligence, creativity, and passion.

Her interests were as vibrant and diverse as her artwork. Music and singing were not just hobbies but part of her essence. Nature was her sanctuary, and she could often be found hiking and biking through it, embracing the world around her with open arms.

Ambyr's life was a testament to the power of passion and the impact of a kind and creative soul on the world. Her unexpected departure leaves a void in the lives of those who knew her, but her spirit remains an indelible part of the canvas of their lives.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Jann Michael Blevins, whose memory she held dear. The family, united in grief, finds comfort in knowing that Ambyr and Jann Michael's spirits are now intertwined in a realm beyond our own.

The departure of Ambyr Deanna Hodges from this world is a profound loss, but the beauty she created and the love she shared will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her life, though too short, was a masterpiece that will be cherished and celebrated by her family, friends, and all who were touched by her extraordinary presence.
