Armando "Mike" Tarquini
Armando "Mike" Tarquini, of Havre de Grace, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2009. He was 80.
He was born in Havre de Grace to the late Armando Mike Tarquini and Angela "Gigia" Vincenti Tarquini. He was the husband of the late Rita Mary Vigna Tarquini. He was the loving father of Michael E. Tarquini and father-in-law of Debbi Mitchell-Tarquini, of Havre de Grace, adored grandfather of Michele Morrow of Wilmington, DE and Gina Tyler of Riverside, MD, and great-grandfather of Jadyn Hickman of Riverside, MD. He was predeceased by his siblings, Frank Tarquini, August "Augie" Tarquini, and Angela "Deanie" Fava.
Mr. Tarquini served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Following his service to his country, he worked at the Aberdeen Proving Ground Paint Shop until his retirement.
He was a member of the Joseph. L. Davis American Legion Post 47, Havre de Grace Elks Lodge BPOE 1504, Knights of Columbus Council 2002, Weedon-Elliott Post 8126 VFW, and was also a member of the Catholic War Veterans. He enjoyed playing pool, crabbing and horse racing. He was an avid fan of both the New York Yankees and the Baltimore Colts. He loved spending time with his great-grandson.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 19, from 6-9PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 20, at 10:00 AM, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 615 Congress Avenue, Havre de Grace, MD. Father William J. O'Brien will officiate. Interment will be held at Mt.ErinCemetery. Pallbearers will be J.K. Pierce, Charlie Pierce, Stephen Morrow, Joe Tyler, Pat Vincenti, and Sam Fava.
