Arthur "Art" Newsome, Jr. of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away at the Anne Arundel Medical Center on April 24, 2021. He was 73 years old and the devoted husband of Edna Newsome.
Born in Kentucky to the late Arthur and Hattie Newsome, Sr. He was the loving father of Michael Newsome (Kim)and Angela Holloway (Scott Billings), grandfather of Brittany Boyd, Coty Boyd, Sabrina Newsome and Michael Newsome, great-grandfather of Trin, Doogie, J.J., Fonzie and Britt. He is survived by his brothers and sisters, as well as his dear friend Billie Labhart.
Mr. Newsome was a United States Army veteran, who served during the Vietnam War. After an honorable discharge from the Army, he worked as a stone mason and construction. He was the assistant pastor and life member of Stepney Faith Center, where he played the organ for church. He absolutely loved music, piano, singing and entertaining others. He enjoyed watching old western shows and taking long drives to the Amish country. His greatest love was his family and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 10 A.M. at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, Maryland 21078.
