Barbara H. Charles of Havre de Grace, MD passed away surrounded by her family on March 19, 2015. She was 94.

She was born in Palmyra, PA to the late John Harold and Viola Blanche (Sanders) Hess.

She was the loving mother of Dina Steffie. She was the devoted grandmother to Jennifer Kuck and her husband George, Robin Johnson and her fiance David Peterson and Robert Dare and his wife Amber. She was the great-grandmother of seven.

Mrs. Charles retired after many years as a Medical Biller at Harford Memorial Hospital. She was also a plane spotter during the WWII. She was a member of the local Ham Radio club and Harford County Civil Defense in the 1950s and 1960s. She was an avid volunteer for the Red Cross and for the March of Dimes.

A visitation will be held on March 28, 2015, from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A. 123 S. Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD 21078.

In lieu of flowers, friends and family may make contributions to Family and Children's Services Adult Day Care, 309 Thomas Run Road, Bel Air, MD 21015

Interment will be Private.
