It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Betty Jeanne Allen, a beloved pre-Kindergarten teacher from North East, Maryland, at the age of 81. Betty was born on September 30, 1943, in Baltimore, Maryland, and passed away peacefully on October 18, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Betty dedicated her life to educating young minds and shaping the future generation. Her passion for teaching and nurturing children left a lasting impact on all those who had the privilege of knowing her. With an associate's degree in education, Betty's career as a pre-Kindergarten teacher was marked by dedication, compassion, and a commitment to excellence.

Betty is survived by her loving daughters, Kimberly Nathewitch (Charles), Robin Edwards (Allan), and Tammy Crane, who were her pride and joy. They will continue their mother's legacy of kindness and generosity. Betty's influence will live on through the countless lives she touched during her time as an educator. She was the devoted grandmother of Shannon Hess (Jason), Hannah Edwards, Heather Hendricks, Braden Spells, Rachel, Trent, and Ally, great-grandmother of Lillianna and Leila, and sister of William Halverson.

Funeral services and ceremonies to celebrate Betty's remarkable life will be held in the coming days, where friends, family, and former students will gather to pay tribute to her memory. Details of the services will be provided in the days ahead.

Betty Jeanne Allen will always be remembered for her warmth, her laughter, and her unwavering dedication to the education and well-being of children. May she rest in peace, knowing that her legacy will endure for generations to come.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Allen, and parents, William Halverson and Thelma Halverson.

A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024, from 11 AM until 1 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 927 Pulaski Highway, Havre de Grace, MD. A Memorial Service will begin at 1 PM.
