It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Beverly "Lynn" Squires, who left this world peacefully at home on December 17, 2025, at the age of 71. Lynn was born on November 24, 1954, in Havre de Grace, Maryland, and she spent her life nurturing those around her with love and kindness. Lynn was a 1972 graduate of Havre de Grace High School and initially embarked on a career with the CIA before shifting her focus to family when she married her beloved husband, James Squires. After a fulfilling time at Aberdeen Proving Ground, she dedicated herself to raising her two daughters, Stefanie Masters and Kelly Squires. Her nurturing spirit found a new home at Perryville Elementary School, where she worked for many years. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in law, Shirley and Robert Russell, along with countless nieces and nephews. Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, Martin Robert Carson and Elizabeth McCardell Carson.
Lynn was an active member of the Mountain Christian Church, finding joy and friendship in her faith and community. She had a profound love for travel, with a special fondness for Ireland. She cherished day trips to Washington, D.C. and annual vacations to Skyline Drive. Lynn loved collecting teddy bears, playing card games, watching British crime shows, German Chocolate Cake, and an occasional Irish coffee. She also enjoyed reading, solving puzzles with Kelly, and supporting charitable organizations close to her heart - causes that included protecting wildlife, the environment, and marginalized communities. Lynn had a gentle sense of humor, paired with a quick wit. She always had a funny joke or story to tell, to the delight of her family and friends. She will be remembered for her compassion, warmth, and the countless lives she touched. A memorial service will be held at the Mountain Christian Church Aberdeen Campus on December 27, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Lynn's remarkable life and the cherished memories they shared. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her.
