It is with heavy hearts that we announce the untimely passing of Brian Lee Coffin, born on August 25, 1987, in Havre de Grace, Maryland. Brian, a devoted husband, loving father, and dedicated police officer, left this world on October 3, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and commitment that touched the lives of many.
Brian was a remarkable family man. He cherished every moment spent with his beloved wife, Kathryn Coffin, and their two children, Amelia and Callan. He was an incredible father who found joy in simply being present for his children. Brian cherished his friendships that were decades old and the new ones he created along the way. The highlights of Brian's life were being with the ones he loved.
An avid handyman and jack-of-all-trades, Brian found fulfillment in tackling projects and sharing his skills with family and friends. He had a profound love for the outdoors, relishing in hunting, hiking, fishing, and boating. Sport, especially baseball were a passion of his, and he loved to cheer on his favorite teams. He was so proud to see his daughter play in the same little league he did as a child.
Brian spent 17 years proudly serving as a police officer with the Baltimore City Police Department, where he rose to the rank of Sergeant. His colleagues admired him not only for his professionalism but also for his unwavering dedication to protecting and serving the community.
Brian is survived by his wife, Kathryn; his cherished children, Amelia and Callan; his father, Richard Coffin; his mother, Donna DeLaGarza; his sisters, Samantha Coffin, Ashlee Thurston, and Abby Gunning; his brothers, Austin Coffin, Richard Coffin (Caitlin), and Alex Coffin; his step-mother, Rachel Gunning; and his in-laws, John and Nancy Delaney and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A public visitation will take place on October 19, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., where family and friends are invited to pay their respects. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM on the same day, providing an opportunity for all to celebrate Brian's life and the indelible mark he left on our hearts.
Though Brian is no longer with us, his spirit will live on through his family and the countless lives he impacted. He will be forever remembered for the love he gave, the sacrifices he made, and the joy he brought to those around him.
