Burton Madison Parker

Burton Madison Parker, Jr. of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2008 at HarfordMemorialHospital in Havre de Grace, MD. He was 75 years old.

Mr. Parker was the son of the Late Burton M. Parker Sr. and Ella C. (Price) Parker. He was born in Havre de Grace, MD and was married to his loving wife Betty M. (Pollock) Parker for more than 56 years.

He was the loving father to Kimberly J. Parker-Thomas and her husband James R. Thomas, Jr. of Ozark, AL. He was a devoted grandfather to Phillip D. Cooper, Sr. of Dothan, AL, Timothy J. Cooper of Norfolk, VA, Jennifer L. Tran of Ozark, AL and Brittany A. Tran of Ozark, AL. He was also a great-grandfather to Phillip D. Cooper, Jr. of Dothan, AL and Kimberlynn J. Tran of Ozark, AL.

Mr. Parker worked in various positions for the Coca-Cola Company and retired after 39 years of service. He enjoyed his family more than anything. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 47 in Havre de Grace, MD, where he was involved for many years with the High Steppers. He had been a member of the Susquehanna Hose Company for 19 years at House #3. He loved to play solitaire and cards with his grandchildren. When he could he enjoyed widdling decoys. He was also the Graduating class of 1951 of Havre de GraceHigh School.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2008 from 6 to 9 PM at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD 21078.

A service will be held on Friday, August 1, 2008 at 11 AM , at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A.

Officiating will be Rev. Dr. John Richardson
