Carol Ann Mathena, of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on August 7, 2023. She was 87.

Mrs. Mathena was born in Bluefield, West Virginia, to Thomas William Stafford and Lillian Ann Woods Stafford. She was the devoted wife to the late Lonnie Kirk Mathena, loving mother of Karen Mathena Taylor (Donald), Jeanell Marie Mathena, Lena Mathena Hicks (Rex), and the late Larry Kirk Mathena. She was the adoring grandmother of Jeffrey Taylor, Brian Taylor, D.J. Taylor, Derek Shepard, Xavier Shepard, Quinn Brown, and Shannon Brown, and great-grandmother of Mason Parker Brown Mirabel Lynn Taylor, Brayden James Taylor, Cooper Kenneth Taylor, Nolan Dean Taylor, Olivia Belle Taylor, and Marcella Ruby Taylor

Mrs. Mathena enjoyed reading murder/ mystery novels, and theatre. She loved traveling with her husband and watching football and baseball with him.
