Carole Elaine Garland, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, at the age of 83. She was born on September 28, 1942, and was a lifelong resident of Havre De Grace, Maryland.

Carole dedicated her professional life as a custodian at the VA Medical Center, where her warmth and care made a lasting impact on those around her. Her kind spirit extended beyond her work as she nurtured a loving family. She is survived by her devoted son Steve Garland, cherished daughter Sherry Oldham, and her beloved grandchildren: Samantha, Nathaniel, Mica, and Matthew Garland. Carole was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank Garland, and her parents, Gardner Van Evera and Susie Marie Howlett Van Evera, and her son Craig Garland.


Carole was an individual of simple pleasures. She found joy in watching movies, immersing herself in crossword puzzles and word-searches, and channeling her creativity through coloring. Her passion for reading books and magazines provided her with countless adventures and memories to share with her family.

Funeral services will be private.
