Obituary

With heavy hearts, we celebrate the life and legacy of Carolyn Jackson Narvell, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who peacefully passed away on March 28, 2024. Born on July 28, 1945, in Wilmington, DE, to the late Walter E. and Virginia (Ebert) Jackson. Carolyn touched the lives of many during her 30 years as an esteemed teacher at Harford County Public Schools. Her passion for education shone brightly throughout her career, leaving a lasting impact on countless students.
Throughout her life, Carolyn was a devoted wife to her husband John Narvell, III, a loving mother to her son John "Jay" Narvell, IV (Kari) and son Lorin Narvell (Eileen), and a cherished grandmother to Mackenzie White (Jared), John Narvell, V, Aiden Narvell, and Olivia Narvell, as well as her great-grandchild Ivy Cooper Narvell White. She was also a beloved sister to Jeanne Dell'Acqua (the late Frank) and sister Marjorie Ricks (Richard).

Carolyn's vibrant spirit, involvement in her community and always striving to make a difference, led her to be an active member of the Independence Day Committee for over three decades. She was a beloved member of the Secret Pals Club, spreading joy and kindness wherever she went. She had a passion for travel, especially enjoying cruises and the beauty of Cancun.. Her fondest memories were made relaxing on the beaches of Ocean City, MD, where she found solace in the sound of the ocean waves.

We invite all friends, family, and members of the community to join us in honoring Carolyn's life. A visitation will be held on April 20, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, followed by a memorial service at 4:00 pm at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A. Amidst the sadness of her passing, we remember Carolyn for the joy she brought to those around her and the lasting impact she made on so many lives. May her memory continue to inspire and uplift those who were lucky enough to have known her.
