Charles Mitchell Brown
December 13, 1941 – April 5, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved patriarch, Charles Mitchell Brown, age 83, on April 5, 2025. Mitch was born on December 13, 1941, in West Virginia to the late William and Irene Brown.
A devoted husband, Mitch shared 63 wonderful years of marriage with his loving wife, Brenda Kay Brown. He was a proud father to Doug (Denine) Brown, Charlie Brown, and Bill Brown, and a cherished grandfather to Lauren Sandlin, Brooks Brown, Eli Brown, and Kody Brown. Mitch was also a proud great-grandfather to Benjamin Sandlin.
In addition to his immediate family, Mitch is survived by his brother, Gary A. Brown, and was preceded in death by his brother, Roger G. Brown. He leaves behind a large circle of friends and extended family who will deeply miss his guidance, kindness, and strength.
A man of integrity and compassion, Mitch's legacy of love and commitment to family, community, and his passions will forever be cherished by all who knew him.
Mitch's passions were many, but few matched his love for sports and the joy he found in watching his family excel. Over the course of 45 years, he traveled countless miles and attended hundreds of football and basketball games, as well as thousands of innings of baseball and softball, always the loudest and most devoted fan in the stands. His enthusiasm and unwavering support for his family's athletic endeavors were unmatched, and he leaves behind countless memories of his excitement and pride as a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
A viewing will be held at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A. 927 Pulaski Highway, Havre de Grace, MD, on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. An open funeral service will take place on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., followed by burial services at 11:00 a.m. at West Nottingham Cemetery, 1195 Firetower Road, Colora, MD.
