Charles Robert Owens, of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on August 18, 2022. He was 79.

Mr. Owens was born in Newport, TN, to Charles Andrew Owens and Pauline Keyes Owens. He was the devoted husband of Billie Jean Owens, loving father of Dana Bruno (Matthew Scott Bruno, Sr.), and Lisa Thomas (David), grandfather of Matthew Scott Bruno, II, (Stephanie), and Jacob Robert Bruno (Jackie), and great-grandfather of Hunter Bruno and Ella Wells. He was the brother of Paula Owens and the late Jack Owens and Julie Gore.

Mr. Owens served in the U.S, Marine Corps., during Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion Post 47 and was the first Vietnam Veteran to join the post. Mr. Owens worked for Pabst Blue Ribbon, Cytec, Pepsi and retired from Vulcan Materials. He loved motorcycles and was a former professional racer on the Flat Track Circuit. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, crabbing, and especially watching his grandchildren's sporting events.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, from 6-8 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington St., Havre de Grace, MD. Funeral services will begin at 8 PM.
