Cindy Mae Brown, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on January 26, 2026, at Christiana Care Union Hospital, in Elkton, Maryland. She was the devoted wife of the Late Gerald L. Brown. Born on February 15, 1958, in Havre de Grace, Maryland. Cindy lived a life filled with kindness, compassion, and selflessness, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A dedicated employee at Rite Aid and Saks Fifth Avenue, Cindy devoted herself to her work, always putting others first. Her colleagues remember her as warm-hearted and always willing to lend a helping hand. Whether at her job or in her personal life, she embodied a spirit of generosity that endeared her to many. A proud member of the American Legion of Elkton, she fostered friendships through her involvement in the community, spreading joy wherever she went.

As a mother, Cindy's proudest accomplishment was her family. She treasured her children, Shannan Brown Millan and her husband Christopher, and her son Jason Brown, nurturing them with unwavering love. Her grandchildren, Anthony Millan and his wife Nahomy Bonilla Millan with a baby boy on the way, Jordan Millan, and Alayna Millan, were the lights of her life, filling her days with laughter and joy.

She also leaves behind a younger brother Ken Walstrum, and her sister Frances Wood, stepbrother Butch Cochran as her surviving siblings. Along with many nieces and nephews that cherished her dearly.

Beyond her family and career, Cindy had a zest for life filled with hobbies and interests.

Played softball for APG Known as the “Lady Hornets.” Also known for her impressive seamstress skills of making quilts, she found solace in crafting and creating beautiful items that brought joy to those around her. She adored playing cards with her sister Franny, especially Poker, and had a particular fondness for Red Cardinal birds, often taking the time to appreciate their beauty.

Cindy Mae Brown leaves behind cherished memories of her laughter, warmth, and selfless nature. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry F. Walstrum and Della (Clayton) Cochran, along with her siblings George William "Bill" Walstrum, Sr., Darla Stanley, Brenda Bevard, and Harry Thomas Walstrum, all of whom she loved dearly.

Though she may have departed from this world, Cindy's spirit will continue to resonate through the lives she touched. Her legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
