Obituary

Darlene Marie Anderson Perry, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, historian, and community servant, passed away peacefully at home on October 8, 2024. She was born on January 1, 1966, in Brooklyn, NY, and throughout her life, she exemplified unwavering kindness, warmth, dedication, and generosity.

Darlene was a cherished member of the community, serving as the former director of the Maritime Museum and Lock House Museum, and contributing her time to the Havre de Grace Historical Commission. She was also proud to be the collections manager for the North Carolina Maritime Museum. Her passion for history and curiosity about the world around her was evident in all aspects of her life. She even authored a book, "The Golden Pendant". She was forever a patriot and served in the U.S. Navy for almost 4 years.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Darlene was deeply committed to her family, friends, and community. She treasured spending time with her husband Dale, daughter Heather Brulet (Benjamin), son John Perry (Andrea), and grandchildren Jack Brulet, Elias Perry, and soon to be Evelina Perry. Known for her love of outdoor activities, Darlene enjoyed finding shark teeth with her son and was recently learning the art of fly fishing. Her dedication to volunteering, including over 2000 hours at Harford Memorial Hospital, showcased her selflessness and compassion for others.

A woman of many interests, Darlene was an avid reader, a member of book and knitting clubs, and found solace in yoga, walking, forest bathing and hiking. She will be remembered for her warm spirit, love of hot tea, and her grace in all aspects of life.

Darlene leaves behind her husband Dale Perry, mother Catherine Crosson, dad Edward Crosson, children, grandchildren, siblings, and a community touched by her immense kindness.

A memorial service to honor Darlene's life will be held at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 927 Pulaski Highway, Havre de Grace, MD, on October 14, 2024, at 1:00 PM. The ceremony will celebrate her profound legacy, enduring love for her family, and countless contributions to the community.
