Obituary

Donald J. Curry of Port Deposit, MD, peacefully passed away on October 22, 2024 at the age of 79. He was the devoted husband of Mitzie M. Curry. Born in Havre de Grace, MD to the late Charles M. Currry, Sr. and Marie Curry.
Donald had a deep love for the water, enjoying fishing, crabbing, and spending his days creating masterpieces by carving and painting decoys. His passion for his garden was evident in the beauty it brought to his home. Donald was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had served in Vietnam. He went on to work for many years at the Aberdeen Proving Ground until his retirement. His pride in his work and devotion to his family will forever be remembered.
Survived by his wife Mitzie Curry, daughter Steffanie L. Curry, son Jason A. Curry (Roxanne), grandchildren Grant West, Garrett West (JoAnna), Joshua Curry, and Cole Curry, and great-grandchildren Grayden, Hadley, and Ty West. He also leaves behind his sisters, Bessie Bowman, Evelyn Mahan (Melvin Sr.), brother Frank Curry (Jackie), and was predeceased by his siblings, Charles M. Curry, Jr., Dorothy Worthington, Helen Hoshall, Walter Curry, Roy Curry, Lillian Curry, Elsie Curry, Margorie Burkentine and George Curry.
Donald's kindness, creativity, and love for his family will forever be treasured by those who knew him best. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the memories of his cherished moments spent by the water and in his garden.
A viewing will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday October 29, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 927 Pulaski Highway, Havre de Grace, MD, 21078. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 29,2024 at 11 a.m. at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A. Interment will be held at the Asbury Cemetery in Port Deposit, MD.
